The Mammoth Cave Basket Makers Guild was founded in 2001 to preserve and promote traditional basket making of the south central Kentucky region.

Goals of the Mammoth Cave Basket Makers Guild

  • Establish a museum and archives of basket making in the Mammoth Cave area
  • Teach the traditional skills through workshops
  • Demonstrate the art of basket making for the public
  • Encourage research of the area's basket making traditions
  • Provide much needed raw materials to basket makers
  • Assist basket makers in developing markets and marketing skills
  • Serve as a local, regional and national resource for basket makers, historians and preservationists

Grand Prize/Best of Show $200.00
1st Prize - $100.00 (all classes except antique)
2nd Prize - $50.00 (all classes except antique)
3rd Prize - $25.00 (all classes except antique)

Registration begins at 10:00 A.M
Entries must be registered prior to 11:00 A.M
Judging begins at 11:00 A.M.
Awards will be presented after judging around 1:00 P.M.
