Egg Basket
This basket belonged to my Grandmother, Edna Lizzie
Bush Rhea. She used it when she and my Granddaddy, Arthur T. Rhea, lived on
the farm in Canmer, KY. She started using this basket about the time they
first married in 1906 to carry ears of corn she shelled to feed her chickens
and her turkeys. She raised turkeys to sell and chickens to sell their eggs.
My grandmother used her egg money to buy things for herself and she kept this
money separate from my Granddaddy's money. I have heard my grandmother and
granddaddy argue over his money and her money. She used this basket until
1961.
